Biography
Born in Trieste, Italy, in 1990, Dr. Gianluca Muto's journey into medicine began early, inspired by his parents, both esteemed doctors. Fuelled by this passion, he embarked on his medical education immediately after high school, enrolling at Campus Bio-Medico of Rome. His dedication and academic excellence shone through as he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Medical School in 2015.
Following his graduation, Dr. Muto's path led him to Torino, where he undertook his medical licensing examination before commencing his Urology Residency at Università di Firenze, Ospedale Careggi. Eager to broaden his expertise, he pursued prestigious fellowships, spending 10 months at Ospedale San Giovanni Bosco in Torino in 2018 and a further 9 months at Istituto Nazionale Tumori Regina Elena in Roma under the guidance of Prof. Giuseppe Simone in 2021.
In November 2021, Dr. Muto attained his Urology degree with the highest honors, Summa Cum Laude,
from Ospedale Careggi, a testament to his dedication and proficiency. Notably, Careggi stands as Italy's leader in robotic surgical interventions.
Continuing his quest for knowledge and innovation, he participated in a month-long Exchange Program at the Minimally Invasive Urology Department of the University of Illinois in Chicago (UIC) in November 2021, closely mentored by Prof. Simone Crivellaro. UIC is renowned as a tertiary referral center for Single Port Robotic surgery.
In December 2021, Dr. Muto joined the esteemed team at Ospedale San Giovanni Bosco, where he currently serves. His commitment to advancing the field was further exemplified by the completion of his PhD program at Università di Firenze, Ospedale Careggi, in April 2024, focusing on "New technologies applied to minimally invasive surgery for the diagnosis and treatment of urothelial bladder carcinoma," a project distinguished by its innovative contributions.

Data collection, together with reporting clinical perioperative and postoperative outcomes
